Grooming Generations of Ballerinas

The Hong Kong Dance Foundation (HKDF) is a non-profit organization (NPO), set up in 1999 which aims at promoting dance education and culture among the youth.

Founder members are:
Mrs Christine Liao, JP, FHKAPA   Principal - Director of Christine Liao School of Ballet
Ms Linda Fung                          Board Governor of Hong Kong Ballet
Miss Susan Street                     Dean of Dance of Hong Kong Academy for Performing Art

HKDF offers scholarships to outstanding young dancers. It also organizes competitions events and auditions, public performances, and open classes by world famous dancers.

HKDF aims at providing advance education and cultural exchange program to talented young dancers. Encourages participation in overseas dance competition, and pursuit of further dances studies.

Auditions for scholarship are held each year in November in public venue by an independent international judging panel. Over past years, hundreds of talented students have benefitted from sponsorships and scholarships offered by the HKDF in the field of Dance.

In the past years, students have been sponsored for special courses, and ballet competitions in UK, China, USA and Australia. This year, courses have become available in Russia which is a dream for all ballet dancers.
